Here’s an update on the hotel and our progress with purchases. We’ve spent two weeks in China with the goal of buying as much as possible for the hotel ✈️. Most of the kitchen equipment has been purchased in Denmark, as we’re familiar with various brands and their quality (because of our bakery back home in Denmark).

We want the very best for the hotel. Additionally, we aim to make it as personal, cozy, and unique as possible. That’s why we’ve added our logo to almost everything in the bathrooms, on all the towels, and even as a small surprise on all the power outlets.

We’ve created a few “mood boards” to give you an idea of our vision for the hotel. Check out what we’ve bought in China and what we plan to buy in Bali under our "Mood Board." The first mood board reflects the rooms, as well as the ambiance and colors we’re focusing on for the hotel 🌴

We still have quite a bit left to purchase. We hope to find those items in Bali 🏝️☀️. Therefore, some family members (Jane, Josephine and Frederikke) will be heading to Bali in January to buy, among other things, the following.

Right now, our main priority is ensuring that production is started in China and, ideally, shipped from China before December 20th, as the Chinese New Year begins shortly after. If it isn’t ready by then, well… the Maldives project will come to a standstill, and that’s definitely something we want to avoid.
