Maafushi and the beaches

There are a lot of different activities on the island! These include various water sports and bikini beaches. They're called bikini beaches because that's where you're allowed to wear swimwear.

The Maldives is a Muslim country and therefore, out of respect for the locals, you must cover up when you are on local islands and moving around. This doesn't apply on the bikini beaches or on excursions (unless you're on another local island). Here, swimwear is acceptable.

In addition, there is also a public children's pool on the island, which many of the local children use. Which you can also use covered🤍
