Our children and their roles in the project

Frederikke is the oldest, aged 24. She is studying to become a marketing economist (online), which means she has the opportunity to spend a lot of time in the Maldives and other parts of the world. She is in charge of all our social media and the website. She will continue to do this when the hotel opens. She has previously taken an education as a purchasing assistant. She has also worked as an instructor, assistant instructor and lifeguard at the swimming pool in the town where we live. She has had 1 gap year (10 months), which she spent travelling to 12 different destinations in 7 months. After the gap year, she worked as a travel consultant.

Josephine is the middle one, aged 21. She has worked for a number of years in our own business - Det Gyldne Brød. She has previously worked as an instructor and assistant instructor in a swimming pool and on a gymnastics team. She also has 5 years of experience in the catering industry as a waiter. She will be responsible for running the restaurant/bakery at the hotel. She is currently on her second gap year, which has been spent travelling around the world. She has been on a backpacking trip in Asia for 2 months and has just returned from the Zanzibar where she spent 4 months.

Alexander is the youngest, aged 16. He is currently attending an after-school programme. He is the one who has spent the most time in the Maldives (with us parents of course). He is like a fish in water and is almost daily with Shadowpalm on trips when we are on Maafushi, where he helps with the anchor, acts as a guide and helps people to and from the boat. He gets to practice a lot of free diving and can almost dive down to 12-15 metres without any problems. He's also the one of who has got the best underwater videos out of the family, because he can dive so deep, but also because he's been on so many trips. He'll be joining us on tours as a guide once we open the hotel.

Everyone's dream is that this is something that we can make a living from and that we can enjoy having together. Therefore, we have all joined this project together. We will all contribute with different skills. Furthermore, we will also take turns being present, but of course, we will also be there together at times.
